World Wide Web's Affect on Humanity
Without the web, I would not have the ability to post this blog right now. Tim Burners-Lee stumbled upon an ingenious innovation by simply trying to overcome a gap in office communication. With a simple memo to his boss, he was able to form the most pivotal technology in modern day history, the world wide web.
The world wide web was originally designed to be used in a professional setting to bridge the gap between technology. However, once it became public domain, the information being shared across it expanded drastically. With the world wide web came blogging, a way for everyday people (like me) to share original content with other everyday people (like you). This created a leveling in humanity because for the first time in history, content created by the average person was only one click away.
Since the inception of the world wide web, it has expanded into not only being a source of information, but also the greatest social platform in history. Once the world wide web became commonplace to the public, blogging began. For the first time, everyday people were able to put their thoughts out into the world for anyone to read. Then came social media, where you could connect with people around the world. With the creation of internet platforms such as YouTube, everyday people (such as Justin Bieber) were able to release original content in hopes of earning fame. The key to achieving your dreams was at your fingertips, it was only a matter of creating a post.
